Panaji, also known as Panjim, is the capital city of Goa and is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Situated at the banks of the Mandovi River, it showcases the convergence of past and the present in its architecture with its old Portuguese styled buildings and new commercial buildings, casinos and restaurants.
Panaji’s brightly painted house and buildings of yellow, red and blue are a treat to the travellers eyes. The narrow streets of Panjim are best explored by renting local bikes or joining one of the famous Hertiage Walks. Panaji offers some great shopping places.
